About Anna

I make complex ideas about change easier to understand—and easier to use.

I’m Anna Russ, the creator and teacher behind RootLogic.

I built RootLogic for women who are capable, responsible, and deeply relied upon—but whose own priorities often become the flexible part of the system when life demands more.

My work is about helping you see the relationships other approaches miss, make more deliberate decisions, and build a way of navigating change that becomes stronger through use.

Why I built RootLogic

Knowing what works is not the same as knowing how to make it work inside a real life.

I spent 20 years in biotech oncology research, including leading clinical teams across 65 countries. Later, I spent more than a decade teaching holistic health to hundreds of women.

The subjects were different, but I kept seeing the same gap. Good evidence, intelligent advice, and a reasonable plan could still fail when they met the complexity of a real human system.

People were often treated as if they were inconsistent, resistant, or insufficiently disciplined. But the more useful questions were systemic: What changed? What is interacting? Where is the pressure showing up? Which part of the pattern is creating the greatest cost?

RootLogic grew from my effort to turn those questions into a practical way of thinking women could use in everyday life.

What shaped the work

Different fields. The same systems question.

Clinical research

Evidence has to survive real conditions.

Twenty years in biotech oncology research taught me to look beyond the intended intervention and study the system expected to carry it.

Teaching women

Knowing more does not automatically make change easier.

More than a decade teaching holistic health showed me how responsibilities, capacity, identity, and context shape what someone can actually use.

Ongoing practice

A useful system is never finished.

I use this way of thinking in my own work, health, responsibilities, and goals. Each pass creates evidence that strengthens the next.

What I believe

Change becomes more workable when you can see the system around it.

You are not a problem to optimize.

A stalled plan is information about the relationship between you, the goal, and the conditions carrying it.

Context changes what a system can access.

The same strength, strategy, or plan can produce a different result when capacity, pressure, or responsibilities change.

Tradeoffs should be deliberate—not automatic.

Real life requires choices. But what matters to you does not always have to be the first thing removed when conditions change.

Practice compounds.

A lifestyle system is not built overnight. It becomes more useful as you notice, test, learn, and recalibrate over time.

How I teach

I teach from inside the practice—not from a finish line.

I am not presenting RootLogic as someone who has perfected life. I am a systems thinker, teacher, and fellow practitioner using the same method I teach.

My role is to make complex ideas clear, show you how I reason through them, and give you a practical way to test the thinking against your own experience.

I want you to leave my work feeling less judged, less overwhelmed, and clearer about what to observe or try next.

What you can expect

Clear without becoming simplistic.

Thoughtful without becoming uptight.

Practical without becoming prescriptive.

Supportive without pretending change is effortless.

A simple place to begin

See what your life is already carrying.
